    Quotes from MERGE 2012

“Great music by the Thames, more please!”
    Franco, Italy.

“Perfect day sitting by the Tate Modern and listen to free music ” Emma, London

“Nice surprise to be greeted by free music and great talent" Charlotte, Birmingham

Every weekend throughout the festival The Riverside Stage on the river walkway by the Millennium Bridge would showcase live music. The alfresco stage was individually curated on set days to promote original song writing and musical talent. The stages were programmed by the Gladstone and Dominik Prosser.

    The Gladstone

Situated less than ten minutes walk from Borough Market and the South Bank, the Gladstone has been described by Time Out as ‘South London’s coolest little pub’. Cosy, intimate and welcoming, it’s developed a reputation as one of the key venues on London’s alt-folk and roots scene, having played host to everyone from Ellie Goulding and Noah and the Whale to Fionn Regan and the legendary Larry Jon Wilson. It’s unique in that it has a free entry to all gigs policy, and attracts a friendly, music loving crowd.

Nottinghill Arts Club and No Quarter

Predating by over 12 years the current bar/club revolution, the Nottinghill arts Club is a specialist pioneering music and arts venue. Through conceptualising and cultivating niche, underground and genre defining nights (such as Radio4, Beachclub, Brazilian Love Affair, Lazy Dog, One World Live, Inspiration Information, RoTa, Futuro Flamenco to name but a few), the arts club has set the musical map of London.

The Arts Clubs Now joins forces with NO QUARTER every Tuesday to present a stage, showcasing serious talented musicians and songwriters.

NO QUARTER presents a new and fresh approach to ensure that the music policy will not get bogged down in particular genres and will keep No Quarter current and fresh to the sounds of the most vibrant and buzz-worthy acts.

For two dates only they are coming to the riverside stage to share their favourite finds and who they think we should keep an eye on.
